I think you'd get a first and mediocre prospect in a Patches deal at this point. MTL has dug themselves an even bigger hole than the Karlsson situation in Ottawa, and Patches doesn't have near the value Karl does. I think MTL would be good to get a 1st rounder and a mid-level prospect out of a deal like this

are you saying the habs need to get a 1st rounder?
I think getting a 25yo LD who can play big minutes is a huge need for the habs. Dman have huge value It's just the way the market is

hense why if I'm MTL, I hold onto him this summer and pray he finds his form(probably will, he is still only 29), then trade him at the deadline as a high priced rental.

I don’t think either team would do this deal, Edmonton needs to keep young pieces, Pacioretty would be to expensive to resign. on the other side I don’t know if Montreal would invest in a player who has only played one full season without an injury and seems to always miss 15+ games a season.
