Certain that the Jets have negative interest in Del Zotto.

I'd hold off on trading a 1st for a guy we can likely have a great shot at getting in FA the year later. Zinger was the guy who discovered him and gave him his shot in pro hockey. He played his AHL career in Manitoba. Told his brother to sign with the Jets and his brother loves it here.

It gives cap relief for Kulikov tho. He is a decent player for a LD 3rd pairing

Ya thats true but the Jets don't need him, we'd rather just run Morrissey, Niku, Chariott/Morrow on the left side and save some cap room. That gives us a strong shut down puck moving D, an offensive talent in Niku, and two tough shut down guys in Chariott and Morrow - we don't fave a hole on the left side that we need to plug up. And in all honesty, without Trouba, we won't have much of a hole on the right side either, but it would be nice to get some sort of replacement for Trouba.

It gives us an option tho. Plus we save 1.33 on cap relief. And if he doesn't do well on a good Jets team, he is gone next year anyways.
