I don't think CAR is selling everything here. 2 guys they want to trade, a bad contract and a prospect. Does that even work for Edmontons cap? If it does, Edmonton probably takes it. Lines are a little off IMO

Disagree that Edmonton takes this. Dri is a young 1C recently signed long term, so team has him in focus for the future McDavid core. The two players of value from Carolina fit the team short term only (wing/Rdef) but creates a hole at Center long term.

They still have Yamamoto and RNHNat C they’re more then fine. Edmonton probably takes that but Skinner fetches a 1st +. Same with Faulk. I don’t think the extra first is needed imo

Yes it works for cap w retention on Faulk. With a extension on Skinner and bridge deal on Jesse p - they still have 8-9M left next year with an almost full roster except Goalie.

The issue here is Skinners NMC

Gauthier is a pretty good prospect who could play in the NHL next year and would learn a lot from a guy like Lucic + a first in a deep draft. They fill 3 holes (LW - RW - RD) immediately and whom ever they take with that pick (or they use both picks to move up). If they resign Faulk and Skinner then they actually only have a hole short term at center, Yamamoto comes up and they take one in the draft. That said Carolina could probably take back more cap.

Think the value is pretty fair here, especially if Skinner agrees to an extension as part of the deal (and obviously waives his NMC)
