They'll likely still return Makar/Timmins because I doubt either makes the AVS this year.

Neither are eligible. Timmins is a September birthday and Makar is an October birthday. They’ll both me 20 before the new year.

I wish they could play, although a defense consisting of Joseph, Bouchard, and Dobson would be pretty good for us.

You don't think Tippett will stick with the Panthers this season?

Don't see him as ready yet, another year in the OHL then perhaps AHL/NHL.

Thanks, for some reason I thought they were eligible. Random question: is Germany in the top group of the WJC this year or are they still relegated?

That's too bad, I wanted to watch Dominik Bokk. My options of prospects to follow as a Blues fan are a bit lacking this year.

Kind of sucks considering Germany could have been a semi-respectable team while Kazakhstan will be celebrating if they score a single goal in the entire tournament.

How many Kazakh NHLers have there been? I think Fedotenko is the only one I can think of.

Yeah I wish the IIHF dropped the relegation games and simply had a mini qualifying tournament. That way teams like Germany would be in, not Kazakhstan.

I knew Timmins was ineligible because he’s leaving junior to play in the AHL, or NHL if he makes the team out of camp. I thought Makar was eligible again but I checked his birthday before I typed that out and I was wrong. It’s too bad that we don’t get a second look at him compared to his peers in international competition. He looks soooo good at dev camp, but that’s a small sample size, and it’s tough to judge how good he really is at a small program in uMass.

I think they do. Teams like Germany still play the world juniors, but they are in a lower group. I think Kazakhstan beat Germany and others last year to make the tournament.

Good news is that Bokk is a February birthday, so when Germany likely gets back in for the 2020 tournament, he’ll be eligible

This year it looks like I'll only get to watch Kostin and maybe Toropchenko if he makes the team.

Yeah but you'll be to busy watching Robert Thomas and perhaps Jordan Kyrou make the actual team. Will be exciting to see what they do.

Robert Thomas will be there if he doesn't make the Blues out of camp. Given tehir depth down the middle, wouldn't surprise me if he's sent back to junior.

I left him out just because I think he may likely be a regular for St. Louis.

That's a fair enough reason.
