Zibanejad and Skinner

Created by: NuttySquirrel
Team: 2018-19 Dallas Stars
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 27, 2018
Published: Jul. 27, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
More likely that Bishop misses 15+ games due to injury than either of these trades

I just picked two NYR prospects that I thought were okay with a quick Google search. Willing to swap them out for any other prospects was just looking to not rid Dallas of their prospect pool

The Rangers cant afford to trade Mika, they'd be leaving the cupboard bare and the kids would be eaten alive!

Robertson and Gurianov are pretty good prospects, but both have question marks. Gurianov may never come over from Russia according to rumors, and Robertson (while talented) has the"knock" floating around that he doesn't have the speed to translate to the NHL. The other players in the deal may never even hit the NHL, their a big rung down the ladder from Robertson and Gurianov. Ritchie shouldnt even be in the deal, the Rangers already have more attractive options in-house.

The 1st pick aside, your then asking the Rangers to give over two prospects (Ronning in particular) who in large part cancel out what the Rangers would be receiving for Mika in the first place.

Robertson
Gurianov
2019 1st
2020 2nd

This maybe gets you Mika, depending on how high the Rangers are on Gurianov and his intent to play in the KHL...but again, the Rangers cant afford to trade Mika anyway. They would need to be blown away, and this doesn't blow them away.

Gurianov is already playing in the US. He is currently playing with the Texas Stars. I haven't heard of any issues with him wanting to go back to Russia to play in the KHL.

Pretty sure you're thinking of the Minnesota Wild prospect Kirill Kaprizov. He's still over in the KHL and there are questions about if/when he's going to come over. Gurianov has been over here for the last two seasons, and hasn't shown any desire to go back to Russia.

Talking strictly about the Skinner trade, yes please. I will take that. Spezza as a 1 year ap dump but we get Ottenger and picks? I'm very happy with this trade

The Skinner trade is awful for CAR and doesn’t suit its stated goals.

Apologies, this was an older scouting report (2015), I do see he has since come over.
