I like this a lot, but I'm seeing it through a biased lense.
STL gets: Nylander, Pesce for Kyrou, Parayko, Bouwmeester
TOR gets: Parayko, Williams for Nylander and Grundstrom
CAR gets: Kyrou, Grundstrom, 2nd for Pesce/Williams
Maybe Car gets something else as well from either TOR/STL

I agree. I think St Louis adds 1 more piece for Carolina, and Toronto adds a 2nd round pick to Carolina. Pesce has significant value so the canes need more coming back.

Blues have a win this deal you gain Nylander and Pesce, and you cap dump. helps us and gives some relief which helps. Still I don't think Carolina would like this deal and on there part it wouldn't make sense either.

The Blues are trading Parayko, Kyrou, a 2nd, and possibly more for Pesce & Nylander. Why?

I like both Nylander and Pesce as players. They don't fill a hole though on the Blues roster and it costs the Blues Parayko + Kyrou. Ouch. There's no guarantee Kyrou excels in the NHL to the degree Nylander has. There's also no guarantee he doesn't. He's also going to be extremely cheap for quite a while which is exactly what the Blues need.

The Blues aren't giving up any assets to move Bouwmeester because this is the last year of his deal. He'll probably play 3rd pairing minutes + PK and his 5.4 million dollar salary will be gone at the end of the year.

Toronto takes this all day because they get their much needed RHD and Williams to boot.

Easy pass from the Blues.

The Best player in the whole trade is Nylander. Toronto is giving up the best player and a prospect for a very good young right handed defenceman and an old winger who would have a hard time making the team? Hard no on this trade.

Here is the thing that makes a Nylander trade almost impossible. He's 22 and has the potential to be an 80-90 point player, Parayko I am not sold that he is a top pairing guy but he has shown some really good progress so far. How do you trade an elite offensive player for anything without losing the trade big time.

Nylander is worth more than this package and TO isn't trading him.

Nylander doesn’t get Toronto Parayko. If Toronto really wanted Parayko the conversation would be for Marner, not Nylander.

Nylander is better than Parayko and so is Marner. If thats the starting point for St Louis, then there is zero chance of a trade because TO has no appetite to pay that kind of a price.

That’s fine because the Blues aren’t shopping Parayko. Toronto can try to draft their allusive RHD.

The only majority of fans that would say Nylander > Parayko are sitting in Toronto. All fans tend to overrate their own players/prospects.

If you took every NHL GM and had them pick between Parayko and Nylander it would heavily favor Parayko.

Doubtful, the overwhelming opinion of Nylander is that he has all world potential but his desire can be questionable at times. At 22 there is every possibility he increases his consistency and then the skys the limit.

Parayko's consensus is this, he's a highly skilled and dependable young defenceman with upside. I've only heard Blues fans say he has elite potential but I think that's a stretch. I like him and think he'd easily be right there with Rielly as the best defenceman in Toronto but Nylander's talent level is extremely high. He's already one of the best forwards in the league at 5v5, top 25 in take aways and possession I believe and at only 22. He could be a point a game guy as soon as this year. That is worth more than Parayko.
