No. Faulk and Skinner are good players but they are not worth pissing away our future and our depth for. The trade barely makes the team better and certainly doesn't make us favorites to win a cup.

Sharks don't have enough prospects depth to go with picks to pick up two quality pieces at the deadline. That is why I went with some of the young roster players. I think the value is there but agree it we be a 'go for it' and not likely in best interest long term.

What do you try to add now or at TDL if you are Sharks?

@Gally_Hab the Sharks package would be appropriate if the canes were sending back Pesce/Teravainen, not Skinner and Faulk. However, it is true the Canes would want this type of package back for the 2 faces of their franchise. So I think it is more reasonable for the Sharks to go after just Skinner, who fits a need now.

I proposed a similar trade where the Sharks trade Gambrell/Karlsson/Roy/conditional 2nd for Skinner and Brock McGinn. And then I think the Canes look to shop Faulk elsewhere.

In general, it’s hard to find a deal suitable to match what the Canes want in return for these 2 guys from just one team. Canes would be better off flipping Skinner and Faulk in separate deals in order to get the most return in terms of number of assets. Otherwise, a package for them might just include an NHL experienced player like Tierney and 2 picks (1st and 2nd rd). On their own, each could fetch 2-3 players + a pick
