Sabres Lines for Next Year

Created by: CuyahogaKid
Team: 2018-19 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 5, 2018
Published: Aug. 5, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I have Reinhart and Mittelstadt on a line together to spread out some of the Sabres skill in the top six. Reinhart and Eichel are reunited on the PP.

I am also using Nathan Beaulieu as a part time PP specialist similar to an Andy Delmore or Marc Andre Bergeron in Buffalo in an attempt to get him back to his Montreal form as a power play asset.

Smith, Bailey, Thompson, Nylander, and Larsson battle for the final spots

Because I have 25 guys up....it's not a final roster, two would need to go down which would fix that

I would be surprised if they wanted Bogosian, and if they took him it would be great, but Bogosian can still actually be useful next year, I just have no idea where they use him next year....I think he either goes into the top 4 next to Dahlin or he bottom pair to mentor a young d. He's still a serviceable player if healthy and we can afford his cap hit.

Spurgeon would be nice, but I'm not sure if I would want to give up Thompson and maybe more like some picks unless Buffalo was a surprise team in the East next year, and Spurgeon will be 29 in Nov. I think I would want to go younger if I'm Buffalo and develop from within

Seeing as Thompson was the 2nd main piece (1st round pk was #1) for ROR, I'm thinking Botts wants to really try him out.. I don't see him trading a prospect they just got.. but every team has a price..

I know he's struggling but if he snaps outta of it he could be extremely good on the wing (where we need depth) I give him until the trade deadline to turn it around.

Five stars, I think you nailed it, excellent job. If we no not have Nelson or Baptiste in the line up I think some team would pick them off of waivers, you could be correct that it does not matter. On the other hand, I think Chiarelli may be interested with both of them. Baptiste played very well with McDavid in Erie and Edmonton could use another RHD. Who knows maybe Botterill already has something planned.
