That's not getting you both EK65 and MD95. I'm not sure ottawa bites for just Karlsson unless you retain on Lucic

Karlsson, with an extension agreed upon, is worth Draisaitl + '19 1st round pick. So you're getting Duchene for Lucic + Bear + '20 3rd round pick...That's not gonna happens. Make it Yamamoto + Bear + '20 1st round pick (for the Duchene part of the deal) and this would be fait on both sides.

Lucic nets nothing of value and requires a sweetener of its own.

So in total you think that Karlsson & Duchene are worth: Two 1st round picks, Draisaitl (#1 Centre), Yamamoto and Bear (easily two of their best prospects)? They could both walk at the end of the season and Duchene is a number 2 center now at best. The fact that Ottawa could get a number 1 center, a good prospect, a number 1 pick, a 3rd and a character guy could help them out.

I'm not saying that this trade is fair, sure the Oilers could sweeten the deal a little, but I think your trade might be a little much. Just my thoughts

Three of the guys you got are on expiring contracts with zero control for Edmonton. The 4th guy is an overpaid bottom-sixer. Is Edmonton really "going for it" this season without regard for the future? McDavid is just 21 and has 15 years ahead of him - if you follow your plan through to next summer he'll basically be on an AHL team and the rebuild will be back at square 1.

This whole premise of this scenario is deeply flawed.

I did read everything. But this trade never specified if they resign or not. BUT while we are on this topic, let's assume that Karlsson resigns. He still isn't worth Drai and a 1st. Draisaitl has had more points than Karlsson, playing second fiddle to McDavid, he is younger than Karlsson and can still get better. You are in theory trading away a #1 D for a #1 C. Sure Karlsson is better but not worth a first rounder on top of that.

He is, in a landslide. Without even the shadow of a doubt. No arguments you can ever throw in will change that fact (because IT IS a fact, not an opinion). It's not a knock on L.D. at all, it's the difference between the best of the bests at his position (top2-3 D in the world) VS a great young elite centerman ("MAYBE" top 25-30 centermen in the world)...fact.
