No point for CBJ to take Krug. They have a very good top 4 D which will only get better in the next 2-3 years. Plus Krug will want a raise at the end of the 2020 season and CBJ has some big FA decisions to make in the meantime with Bobrovsky and Werenski, also, why would Columbus want to strengthen a team that they might have to face for a WC spot?

I mean, I get your point about it not being a good fit, I agree. I think it's very good value though.

My question is do you really think Boston is in danger of falling into a wild card spot? They were a point out of first in the east last year.

I highly doubt they'd have to play for a WC spot, but FLA and TOR have gotten stronger which may deduct some points from the Bruins, also, I'm just imagining the worst case scenario

Sure Panarin is fine for a year, but gee look at Bruins LHD, you think they need Krug. Having cost efficient Donato for a few year is what the Bruins desire. Yep Bruins get the best player in the trade, butI'm not sure they make at trade as it weakens them in two positions.

But Boston has kind of gotten stronger too. They're number one d man was a rookie last year....he should be better this year. Debrusk, heinen, Donato, Pastrnak, Carlo, and possibly a couple more kids will likely be taking a step further too. While that's true of Toronto as well, I don't think it's to the same extent. I don't think it's a crazy idea to have heinen put up 60+ points. Same from Donato.

I don't think they need Krug. The left side is super deep. Grizz, Moore, and Chara is pretty good. Zboril, lauzon, and vaakanainen are rapidly coming up as well.

You have to give to get...I personally think B's will stand pat and hope kids florish as they are cost controlled. However it is fun to dream about adding high end talent in a fair trade. Krug has a high cap and will be a casualty soon enough. Chara, Moore, and Grzlyck lock down left side with several LHD in their system being groomed. Donato has name recognition but their is a logjam at LW. I personally would rather keep DeBrusk, Heinen, and Bjork. Not sure if Donato will bring the jam and skating ability. JFK is a redundant throw in as Studnicka and Frederic have leapfrogged him on the depth chart...we can date to dream! Hey, congrats with Leafs adding Tavares! They will be fun to watch.
