That's a pointless trade for the Bruins...Unless you are doing it for salary cap reasons. Even then, I want something in return.

I understand your thought on "not getting something in return". But the return is 3m in cap space next year, but then 7m in cap space for the following four years. It's a dilemma for all GMS, and you should have confidence that Don Sweeney will do the right thing.wink

And the right thing is not trading Rask for cap space.

Sorry, did not have time to explain trade due to RFA functionality and was on lunch. In a sense it is a salary dump with an eye on future signings. The actual deal would be Rask/Krug for Pavelec/Trouba/#1/#2. Pavelec could share duties with Gus for a year then his 3.9m comes off the books in time for Subban/McIntyre to take over. Need to create cap space and Tuukka doesn't steal games so there is no point having him on a #7 or #8 playoff team. The Krug vs. Trouba swap is basically our small PP specialist for a top 4 right shot dman with some bite and potential. Grzelcyk will be the new PP specialist and has similar game to Krug. Sign Yandle, Okposo, and Vessey and they should good now and in the future. I personally might want to add Drew Stafford for Hayes and less futures in place of Okposo as Stafford had 4.3m coming off the books next year and we have Seynshyn who might be ready next year. That would leave 15m +/- under the cap for 17-18 season when Marchy, Spooner, and Pasta etc are due raises.
