Is that really what the trade was? I remember reading that it involved picks - not first round but (presumably) seconds. That's why LA had to be so deal or no deal with Max - they were operating under a time crunch.

You are correct. Otherwise they would have continued to negotaiate and got a deal done. Don’t know how far apart Max and LA were on terms.

I heard the deal wasn't the issue, but the paper work for Max's contract extension went to his old Agent(he switched just before the draft). and by time the paper work finally made it to Max's correct agent the picks had been made. but that what i heard, no idea if it was correct.

No one really knows what was offered. The only thing mentioned and confirmed was that there was most likely picks involved and defensemen. (prospect or rosetr player no one knows)

First i have heard this. Would be an intersting twist. I had heard agent was fired after the deal was botched. Rumors are funny that way. We will probably never learn the truth.

ya either way, this isnt good for MTL as now Max knows MTL is trying to trade, plus I think they told him to his face they are trying to trade him ASAP.
Never good to know that a team is actively trying to trade you when you haven't requested a trade(haven't heard if he did, but im assuming he hasn't)
Good luck being motivated to play for that team that you are also the Captain of. The only motivation he could have is that if he plays good, he will get traded sooner haha
