You would be lucky to get some pick back for Ericsson, not 3rd. And Pittsburgh would want 1st and Toffoli for Kessel who is prolific scorer.

So the Kings acquire Kessel. OK. Now how do they accommodate Kempe's raise next season? Oh and that massive contract they just gave Doughty? Pitts is also not going to be retaining money on Kessel's contract.

Habs don't really have a place for Clifford, though he'd be an upgrade on Deslaurier. Ericsson, with 2 years and $4.3M on the cap doesn't hurt the Habs (who can take time to develop Mete), but I wouldn't give a decent pick for him. Maybe McCarron or, better yet, Shaw at 50% of salary. If Shaw is on LTIR, he doesn't cost anything and, if he's healthy enough to play, he's a useful player on a playoff-bound squad.
