Very bold "all-in" move since one or both of them would be straight rentals.

Pettersson might not be the best prospect for MTL since he's already 24. Maybe Carrier or the rights to Harper?

As for Jarnkrok-Simmonds... Jarny is a great contract and I'd be curious to know how his value is viewed league wide. He's not a big scorer but he contributes so much with ability to play multiple roles/positions, excellent on the PK and provides solid depth scoring.

I like the Nashville deal, though I'd likely simplify it with a 1st and a 2nd, with another 2nd if Pacioretty re-signs or Nashville makes the Cup finals. Not sure Pettersson won't be available on waivers anyway.

Pettersson will likely start and spend the season in the AHL unless he explodes beyond expectations so waivers are unlikely.

Presumably, he'll still have to clear waivers coming out of training camp.

From which side? Post Skinner trade it’s hard to know what is a good trade for Patches.

Fair enough. Thought he'd signed a contract a year earlier. Anyway, not sure it makes much difference until he makes his mark.

NOt sure thats enough for simmonds.

Jarnkrot and a 3rd? The 6th would be very late. Flyers get alot more for simmonds than that.

Recent history (hanzal trade) A physical forward with almost guaranteed 25-30 goals per year?

Hes currently a bargain and probably an easy, not too xepensive re-sign for a club with tons of cap space, and jarnkrot gives them what?

Max deal looks good, but simmonds deal would be in the same neighborhood, not a 3rd line center, a 3rd and 6th

I don’t necessarily disagree... but A) Jarnkrok’conract is unreal. That has value in a salary cap world B) Simmonds is a pure rental right now with injury trouble. Jarnkrok, a 3 and a 6 is pretty fair. But to your point I’d slide that second 6 to a 4. Simmonds isn’t getting much more than a middle 6 forward who can play any position, on a fabulous contract and 2 early to mid round picks. Anything more is an overpayment

Don't really see the incentive from Philadelphia to move Wayne Simmonds unless the return is above-market price.

Jarnkrot is on a good deal, but find me a power forward making less than 5mil, especially one as steady as Simmonds. If Martin Hanzal gets what he got, why would simmonds be worth a 3rd, a 4th and a third line center with upside?
Simmonds, Lucic, etc are a different breed than a Jarnkrot, who are easier to find. Maybe Im crazy but I think Im in the majority who think the Max deal, coming off a bad year and is 4,5 UFA, is closer to what Simmonds will get who still delivered stats even injured.
Simmonds scored 28,29, 32,31 goals and with injuries dipped to 24, but his injuries are all minor. Simmonds brings alot more than pts though and is a commodity that 30 teams would love to have. Not saying Max is horrible, just think if hes worth a top prospect, a 1st and a 2nd, why would Simmonds be worth such a smaller deal? And why would that entice the Flyers, its nothing they need.

I didn’t give a top prospect to MTL and how did that Hanzal trade work out for the Wild? In my fantasy world I’m not going to overpay bc Flyers fans think I should. If PHI doesn’t accept them they don’t accept, but the deal is fair. PHI gets a return on a guy they can’t afford to re-sign in the form of an unrealistically cheap middle 6 Forward who can play all 3 positions. Plus 2 picks. Also... probably shouldn’t use Lucic to help you prove a point.

Jarnkrok trade is fair, but with the Preds current needs I would rather have a utility guy like Jarnkrok over Simmonds. Jarny is probably the most underrated forward on the Preds. Even missing 20ish games due to injury he had a career year and is just hitting his stride.

Thank you. This thread just proves how underrated he is. I would argue Hartman could fill the Swiss Army knife roll.

All Im saying is Simmonds vaue is vastly underarated in your fantasy. Also Philly has tons of money to afford him. They have 11mil free now and next year when hes a UFA they have even more, almost 25 mil free for Provorov, Koneckny (on entry level deals) and Simmonds, so money isnt an issue. Im just saying the value OR need in that deal isnt for Philly, its not a deal they beenfit from enough. If you had said RH dman Ellis and those picks, now thats something they lack.

Look at Clarkson, Moulson, Okaposo, etc... all those power forwards are worth more than just points and overpaid as such, but Simmonds will go from 3.9mil to 6.5 or 7.5 and Philly cant afford?

If you had reversed those two deals, they are more relevant to what philly is doing and probably what a flyer fan sees as fair value.

As a preds fan you have immense value in jarnkrot, but not enough to keep him, I can understand that. But ultimately a trade 99% of the time ha to make sense for both teams, and that trade doesnt make sense for Philly.
