Judging by your tons of Montreal Armchair GM teams, you're a Canadiens fan. So it's clear you have no idea what our prospect pool is like; we also have Rasmussen, Berggren, Svechnikov, and Veleno, all of whom project to be good NHL forwards. Also, do you really think it's as easy as just getting a physical? He's 38, it's all about how his back feels to him when the season starts, not a doctor. You're pretty misinformed.
I obviously don't follow the Wings as much as you do and have little knowledge about your prospect pool but I took time to look up the prospects you mentioned. Rasmussen looks promising but soft as he has not played more than 50 games the last two season in WHL. Berggren is not even signed by the Wings. Svechnikov might make the show, stats aside who knows. Veleno hasn't signed with Detroit yet either. To summarize, 2 of the 4 players listed as high propects are not even signed by the Wings and the other two have potential and yet no defense prospects to replacing your aging core, as said before why move your most promising young dman in Jensen, moving him will not help the cap issues.
The question still remains, should Zetterberg play this season, how will the cap issues be resolved.
Lastly, not sure how me being a Habs fan doesn't make me a hockey fan, not sure why your taking shots at me? As for MTL, I don't support the many moves that Bergevin has made, he his killing our franchise. He should have drafted Zadina hands down, he should have not moved Subban or Serganchev. As for Galchenyuk, for his sake he had to go...Mtl nightlife was killing him. I'm aware of the state of the franchise and am not burying my head in the sand.
FYI, Bertuzzi is a local kid who I wish best success in his NHL career, he will be a fan favourite.
