Description
The NYI trade is based on the fact that Trouba has a healthy 40 pt season without power play time in 18-19. This is the pace he was on in 15-16 and I feel he will hit it with a healthy season.
The isles get a true #1 d and a top six ready player in petal who gets .5 pts/game in limited playing time (when Perreault is injured).
The jets get a hometown boy in Pulock and a player who is very similar to Trouba but who wants to be here in Canada. Dobson can immediately step in and replace Trouba in terms of playing on the shutdown pairing with morrissey but he will not be able to cover up the lost offence. Though Dobson has a higher ceiling than where Trouba is, Dobson may not get there and Trouba can still improve. Overall I think this trade helps both teams.

Tell me if I need to add or subtract.

The avs were once again exiting in the playoffs but lacked secondary scoring needed to actually contend. This addresses that need and Colorado will not miss the picks since they have 2 1sts (one lottery).

Vancouver need nhl rd and have cap space. After a healthy season kulikov is worth the risk.

Wheeler takes a discount to get stone and stone takes a discount to win in his hometown.

The wingers are deadly

Could consider bringing enstrom back to help out the D and let green develop some more

Can't bank on everyone taking a discount. Laine will get 10+ if you want him for the full 8 years. A comparable for Connor would be Pastranaks contract. Not saying hes on the same level of Pastranak, but with the cap gone up and a rookie 30 goal season, Connor will get that much. And you've got no money to sign you're upcoming RFAs, like a top 4 dman (Niku) and your 2nd line center (Roslovic) who is obviously going to need a huge raise!!! Trades are fair value, but I dont think Dobson is really available from NYI

Connor will be slightly less productive with Roslo instead of scheif. Laine contract is same as Ovie contract. Expansion draft sees little go. Niku or roslo get bridged. Trying to wait out buff contract. I think Dobson becomes available in a trade for Trouba and petan, two young studs

NYI won't trade both Pullock and Dobson. It'd be a one or the other kind of scenario likely even if they are getting Trouba back with an extension in the deal.
