Description
With their window now all but shut, this trade opens it again for one more crack at the Cup. Why would Ottawa agree to this deal? Why the hell not?! Their gonna lose both Karlsson and Duchene in time and haven’t been able to make a deal yet. They get two decent role players under contract for several more seasons each that wouldn’t break the bank. If they truly desire to right their ship, they need guys like this and draft superstars. Such a sorry state they are in. If I’m Bowman, at least ask. Whatever success Chicago is to have, most likely it hinges on Crawford’s health. If they have to go with Ward as their number one, may as well upgrade other key questionable areas.

You hit the nail on the head. Hawks would need Anisimov to stay in the deal to make it under the cap. Pure & simple.

I am sure the Hawks do, but so do lots of teams across the league. I think he was referring to the value, not offering Ryan.

Duchene on his own could fetch a better package than this imo, never mind Karlsson. It makes no sense for Ottawa to package them together to one team unless they are cleaning out a team with a stacked farm system.
