I know Puljujarvi can be a really great player, but I would accept that offer from hurricanes. Not need the 3rd round pick, only Faulk and Rask.

I know the Carolina trade makes sense but Kassian? The mammoth of a contract? That just isn’t happening. Both Faulk and Rask have positive value. Kassian does not. Sorry. For different piece this is fine but not Kassian.

If Im Carolina Im not making that trade. Both Rask and Faulk sold separately would equate to roughly what Puljujarvi is worth. No why take on Russell who is probably not even making the starting 6 in Carolina and makes 4M a year?

I'd rather simply do:

Faulk for 1st, prospect, etc (whichever team)
Rask for 2nd, prospect, etc (whichever team)
Keep the 3rd
No Russell

than

Puljujarvi
Russell

Rask isn’t gonna fetch that much though. He might fetch a 3rd straight up but not a 2nd prospect of whatever. That’s why I’m kind of intrigued. I like the concept of this trade because Teräväinen Aho Puljarvi is just stupid but like you said maybe not Russel

Kassian @ 1.95 for 2 years is mammoth? Not going to offer much scoring, but solid, physical 4th liner. Probably making about 500k to much but is that really a deal breaker contract wise? He’s not listed in the trade. Assuming it has been changed. So i can’t comment as to trade value but the idea his contract is a deal-breaker is laughable. If you dont want him because he sucks that is one thing. Contract...not really.

If anything has been proven its centerman are worth more than you think. They are always in high demand. If Im Montreal, a 2nd and a prospect for Rask and I wouldn't bat an eye and i'll even take you out to dinner first.

Rask is 25, big'ish, cheap'ish, signed long term, wins faceoffs, plays two way and can score 40+ points on a low scoring Carolina team........

Yeah I'll take one of those please. I think Carolina is underselling him, hard. Not the only ones. NYI fans sell Brock Nelson far cheaper than he should be also.

1.95 for an AHL player st best. The dude is just bad. I didn’t make this clear and that is my bad but he’s just an average AHLer on a bad oilers team.

If you wanna pay that for Rask I’d bite your hand off at the arm. But I don’t think watching him, that’s what he’ll get. Yes centermen are worth more but he needs to show drastic improvement (from a Carolina fan) before I can justify that price. He’s had years. If he can continue to improve then maybe but not run

What exactly are you expecting from a 4M center? Bonino? Eakin? or Rakell?

If you are expecting Rakell type numbers, don't. That is an anomaly.

4M centers generally only get you guys like Eakin and Bonino. Bonino made his worth playing for one of the best teams in the league the past couple years. Eakin has settled into a checking 3rd line role. Rask has 2nd line upside and is still young enough to get better.

I haven't seen as much as you probably have of him but I have a feeling most are down on him because of a down season......he was 45+ point scorer beforehand though. Damn, I'd kill for a center like that. Considering Carolina is in tough with centers until Necas comes of age, I'd don't see the rush to move him at all frankly.

If Aho plays at C and Necas is in the NHL they have 5 NHL ready C’s. Wallmark shouldn’t be overlooked btw PPG in the AHL last season. I could see him being moved. As for value, none of those are worth a 2nd + except maybe Rakell. Bonding and Eakin certainly aren’t.

Rakell is worth way more than a 2nd a porspect dude.

Anyways im just saying im sure there are teams willing to pay for rask. He is a dwcent centre.
