Exactly the 2019 1st would be the property of the NYR.

I agree with many of the points and that not only EK65 isn't worth 2 firsts as a rental, but they are only picking up Coburn who is a free agent after this year (while Callahan would be a better choice) and Killorn who is not a bad value at his price for OTT who will need offense once Stone leaves. The importance right now is getting Point and Sergachev signed for longer terms as I think Gourde is going to be gone. I think the Panarin trade wouldn't be bad for that reason as it would give flexibility for next year to try to get alot of the rising stars signed long term and an out of the Johnson contract which isn't bad, but doesn't allow us as much cap flexibility. But that Karlsson deal is basically 3 1sts for a guy who is a rental.

I could see Johnson maybe waiving his NTC for Vancouver to be close to his Hometown and us using that asset to get a rental.

Good luck with that, Yzerman wont give up Point for Erik Karlsson. Point for Panarin definitely isn't happening.

You are right. Panarin likely is not as good next year as Point and Point is going to be an RFA at the end of his current contract while Panarin is gone back likely to CHI.
