That's a lot to give up, regardless of who you're acquiring

Alot to give up, the Trouba deal isnt too bad, but WPG is in tough with cap and Sanheim, Laberge and a 2nd is alot for a guy who might hit the market anyways, especially since it looks like Sanheim will get every chance to suceed this season (and if he doesn't then this package isnt too lopsided, but why would WPG want Sanheim then?).

As for the Karlsson deal, I suppose it isnt too one sided, but Frost and Myers are top prospects in the league. Theres part of me that thinks Frost could be JPG and more, so I'd roll with Myers, Rubotsov and a 1st for Karlsson.

Either of those deals (the players) work for PHI, but not both, as youd be looking at a defense that cost almost half your cap and with guys like Patrick, Lindblom, Hart, Felix S, Allison, Radcliffe, etc... and all the prospects ending their entry level deals, youd be hard pressed aganist the cap.

Why give up anything to sign Karlsson in June 2019? He's going to ba UFA, certainly EK can wait. The max amount of years to sign EK is 7 years....the team that owns his rights at TDL get 8 years.
Trouba might Agee to sign and trade. Fair trade.

Trouba will ask for 7m+ add a 2nd rounder and OTT will take Weise off your hands so can offer trouba what he wants and have 1 mill in cap space left over.

Rumor has it that Trouba is seeking Ekman-Larsson money at least closer to $8 million per, You can only sign Karlsson for 7 years and i don't see either Karlsson or Trouba committing long term with Philly.

They are 8 year deals because it is a sign and trade.
