Description

Preds need a top 6 forward and deal from position of strength, they acquire an elite player in Nylander to pair with Forsberg or Johansen but have to give up Arvidsson in the process to do so.

Leafs get an upgrade on D and still get good forward too who adds stability to their salary situation too going forward.

Matthew's, Marner, Kapanen, and Johnsson can easily be signed now long term.

Can also add to the trade if needed.

The biggest impact of this trade will be bumping Rielly down and watching him outplay opposing team 2nd pair Ds.

I don't see the Preds giving up either Josi or Arvy let alone both. Not commenting on fair value of trade, just from a PR standpoint.

You could argue that Arvidsson is as good as Nylander now, though Nylander might have greater upside. But Arvidsson has a very team friendly contract.
I just don't see the Preds who are more in win now mode than the Leafs trading Josi.
