NHLer hell look at the depth chart he’s better than liljegren and we’re only paying him 1m... the future is soooo cool.

I also notice that we signed all of our RFA’s for more money than the cap would allow in 19/20.... Dubas is the man!!!!

On a serious note I think zaitsev will be a keeper on a great contract in 20/21.... my crystal ball is a bit clearer than yours lol

Not saying this post, but on some many posts, guys pay too much for the stars, and then expect some "lower" RFAs to take a pay cut. No way, as those RFAs would be entitled to be UFA. If some of those RFAs are NHL good as 3rd liners wingers or NHL Dmen, I want to sign them long term for 2m or 3m if possible.

I would love to lock up johnston and kappy long term but is it possible with our cap next season? Not sure. Is a bridge plan going to work with dermott and Grundstrom and other players coming off of ELC’s. it’s going to greatly depend on cap size and performance.

I think the best case scenario is getting the big 3 signed long term And the smaller 3 Johnson, kappy and ozhiganov (yes I know this is preemptive) Locked in for 4 years. But this is pretty wishful. There may be some bridge deals thrown around.

Tough say what individuals want. Look at that Jarknok contract with Nashville, 6 years at 2m per for 3/4th line centre. Can we get Johnsson for something similar.? Kappy might be more difficult to sign long term but 1.5m for two . Borgman is also up next year. Ozhignokov is closer to being a UFA due his age. If he shows well, he could get "bigger" money. At least Dermot is up after Marleau leaves.
Actually I'm not too worried about the Leafs cap. If there are too many good players that deserve big money, that can't afford cap wise, you can always trade them, either for picks or cheap ELCs. We lived long enough through the Ferguson, Burke, Nonis eras where you couldn't manage your lineup because you had so many bad contracts, or buyouts or retention.
