There's a bunch in Nylander's draft class that haven't signed extensions yet. Of those who didn't sign a bridge deal (still RFA upon expiry, where following contract is a much larger cap hit that doesn't have cheap RFA years to bring the average down)

1. Ekblad 8x $7.5 (signed July 2016)
309 GP 53 G 81 A
2. Reinhart
249 GP 65 G 75 A
3. Draisatl 8x $8.5 (signed August 2017)
269 GP 75 G 132 A
8. Nylander
185 GP 48 G 87 A
9. Ehlers 7x $6 (Signed Oct 2017)
236 GP 69 G 93 A
10. Ritchie
186 GP 26 G 33 A
15. Larkin 5x $6.1 (Signed Aug 2018)
242 GP 56 G 84 A
25. Pastrnak 6x $6.7 (Signed Sept 2017)
254 GP 94 G 109 A
from 2013 draft,
6. Monahan 7x $6.375 (Signed Aug 2016)
393 GP 138 G 143 A
The longer a team waits, the less uncertainty in a player's production and the more the price rises due to cap inflation
Nylander's floor price is 5x $6.1, the recent Larkin signing. 6x $7 is possible, depending on the other hold-outs this year.
7x $7 would be the next floor
The smart move for long term cap savings is the max 8 year extension, which will boost Nylander to the $8 million range easy. Draisatl has similar production, but he signed his contract over a year ago
The final option is a short bridge deal, just waiting to match with a good trading partner.
