Funny that you say Braun is so desired by the Leafs....(he isn't ) but the cheaper players he traded for Borgman, is a starter for the Sharks. And the Leaf give up a first rounder too? Leafs say no, for that one year rental. And really the Sharks would be playing with half their team making under 1m if EK is resigned. I don't see how he fits into the Sharks cap structure.

Pavelski won't be anywhere near that cheap on a 3 year deal. Expect him to get a similar deal to JVR (7 million x 5 years) maybe 1 year less for Pavelski, but 7 million at the lowest. And while I personally think the leafs Braun rental is fair, the leafs have shown they're not willing to give up their young players, so I don't see it happening.
