Not sure that this makes sense for Colorado. They have a fringe 2/3C already on Soderberg, and have plenty of center depth beyond that. Kaut’s upside to be a top 6 forward is higher than what Hayes is as a player right now, and Kaut fits the Avs positional needs better as a right winger. In addition, Colorado historically doesn’t trade away players who they drafted that same year.

For Hayes ? A big no from COL. No way that this overpaid 45 points/year guy is worth a 1st rounder plus a top prospect like Kaut. Give me Zibanejad and the last year of Zuccarello and there we talk ...
