No!!! Even if the Habs were to trade Price, this package is awful. Roy is a borderline prospect and no one has fallen further in The Hockey News Future Watch than Gauthier (https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/future-watch-2018-the-nhl-s-top-10-falling-prospects). That doesn't mean they're washed up, but they're deeply suspect. So you're trading Price for a middle-of-the-pack #1 in 2019, a mishmash of other picks, and the promise that if he does really well, the Habs would get more so-so picks (since they're based on his success).

That way it was to ensure that nether team paid too steep a price, or didn't get enough back. It worked better for the long run, Roy had 2nd line upside and Gauthier can be a top line elite winger, plus Montreal right now need centers, he won't get a look in Carolina with Necas and Wallmark ahead of him, he's french canadian and I thought it just made sense

I dont understand y they need Subban (or y they would get Price quite frankly). Darling has just started his career as a starter. U people need to chill. Can we at least try out Mrazek before we throw the scratch hammer on him?
If ur getting Duchene, y is he the 2C? Ur lines should be:
Aho-Duchene-Stone
Teravainen-Jo.Staal-Svechnikov
McGinn-Necas-Williams
Zykov-Wallmark-Ferland
Slavin-Pesce
CDH-Hamilton
Fleury-TvR
Price & M.Subban (or Darling and Mrazek because the Price and Subban trades r garbage).

Aho and Teravainen don't play apart, Duchene and Stone don't play apart, Zykov - Necas - Svechnikov is the calder line and McGinn with Wallmark and Ferland makes sense. Defence doesn't matter because if there's a RD and a LD out on the ice, does it matter who they are in Carolina?

I'd be willing to bet neither Gauthier nor Roy become impact NHLers. There's a reason they won't get a sniff with the Canes. Within a year, the Habs will have Kotkeniemi, Suzuki, Danault, Poehling and Peca at centre. Not sure Roy is needed, even if he is French.

Bergevin gave up Sergachev for a french guy, this is a resonable offer, while you'll have all those guys, centers often start on the wings to adjust EG Larkin, I can see that being the case with a ;oad of them, Roy has played C at the NHL level before and I cannot emphasise enough he's french

The lines are still off though I know you want to keep Teravainen and Aho together, we've been through that one before so we'll have to agree to disagree on splitting them up. I'd certainly try it if I was the coach. Lines are never set in stone (unintentional pun there with Mark), and can always be switched around. The Price trade is messy and I don't really think the 'canes need him.

OK, I'll be clearer. No thanks. Roy will never be a significant NHLer and Gauthier is even less likely to have a successful career. He has overtrained and now appears to lack the speed to make the jump. So, no, Price isn't being traded for two marginal NHLers, if they're even NHLers at all.

Okay, thats wrong, Roy has a top 6 potential and Gauthier has been AMAZING in preseason, plus one is a C and Montreal don't have a bigger need right now
