I think the return for Nylander only works if the Habs agree to give up this years or next years first rounder. 2021 is too far down the road

Agreed. Also Scherbak adds nothing to this deal, Leafs don't need or want him. We have better prospects we can bring up.

Dont think Nylander is worth a high lottery pick and a future top 4 dman. Rather have a shot at getting Byram or another top center in next years draft.

Scherbak does have value league wide, but I do agree that the Leafs are the one team that don't care for young wingers. We just don't have any other disposable warm bodies to give. Perhaps someone like Armia, Lehkonen, Danault, Tatar (all middle 6 as of right now).

Personally, I wouldn't do that trade because it's likely to be a high pick, but it's probably about what's required. Habs have the assets, but not the disposable assets.
