IMO basically all these trades help out Detroit and don't help the other team at all.

Trade 1: Too much for Nyquist.
Trade 2: Not too bad, depends how Vanek plays.
Trade 3: Even though this is the last year of his deal, no, you can't just get rid of a bad contract to a team like Winnipeg who a) doesn't need him and b) has some cap problems (if i'm correct) and get a pick+ in return.
Trade 4: This one could work if Chicago wants more depth in the lineup on forward.
Trade 5: NJ doesn't need Helm, especially if they've already traded for Vanek.
Trade 6: IMO there's no way Carolina does that. Faulk is way better than Abdelkader if you ask me.
Trade 7: Overpayment for Green if you ask me.
Trade 8: It could work.

So some of the trades are okay, but a lot of them seem to only be helping Deroit in my opinion.

Its mostly all to clear spots for kids. Plenty of plugs in the lineup.
