Toronto says no. Far too much for a rental in petro.

Liljegren will be nhl ready and may be our top pairing rhd by the end of the season.

Why wouldn’t we just wait 1 year if we wanted to sign him?

Trade nylander and zaitsev and get more back. Also keep dermott.

It’s not that far fetched and like I said nylander, 2 good 2nd pairing Dmen and a first for 1 year rental of petro is far too much.

it is far fetched if you think that someone will test FA when a team will pay because the GM is good friends with you.

I’m sure it will depend on cap space and the need for petro on the team. I’m not even saying Toronto would be interested in signing petro. He will be what 30 years old turning 31 during that season? Might not be the smartest move.

So then this is a rental trade? That price is insane for a rental and only a very desperate GM would pull the trigger on that. Its an awful trade from an asset management perspective.

Two 1st round picks, the leafs best defensive prospect, nylander and dermott for petro?? Dubas would be fired immediately and replaced by cliff fltecher even though he is 83 and may die soon
