Nylander rumors heating up

Created by: msekkes
Team: 2018-19 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 2, 2018
Published: Nov. 2, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This one from NHL News Updates (FB page). They don't go into detail what it would take but I would imagine it would start with a dman and a RW since the Flyers would essentially have Simmonds on the 4th line. If he is bent on $8+ million I'm not going to be a fan of any trade that transpires. That 3rd line d pairing would be horrific to watch, like scarier than seeing Gritty on the streets of Kensington shooting up scary.

I must be missing something. I mean Im not a Flyers fan to watch them all the time but lately I've seen a lot of people putting down the d core. I don't get it though.. those pairings should be awesome. At least on paper they look scary good to me so I must be missing something.

Agreeing with yanp007, but I would think that Morgan Frost would be center of attention for Toronto (soo connection). I would just change 2nd+Sanheim to Frost.. I feel thats what Leafs would want..

Problem is our best d pairing has been getting the least TOI.

Ghost, Provorov, and MacDonald have been liabilities on D this year and they are on the ice for the majority of each game. Maybe cutting a bit of Provorov's time to decrease the pressure and bumping up the bottom four's would help.

Seems like more that fair deal for the Leafs. And the contract...fair too.

Yes. Now you are on board with the overwhelming majority of the Flyers fan base.

Provy had a rough start to the year, to be fair, but has been excellent in the last 3 games. Ghost has been fine. MacDonald has been horrible, and has been benched about half the games this season as a consequence.

It's also true that Flyers' goaltending save percentage is .872%. How much of this is on the D and how much is on the goalies is up for debate.

Right on. Gudas and Sanheim should be getting 2nd pairing minutes and responsibilities. It's way overdue.
