I cannot figure out why I don't hate this... Has to be because I am a big Zaitzev defender, but...... I'm strangely okay with this.

Others will hate cause they think Pesce = Nylander (pro tip: he does not) and they think Zaitzev has negative value (again, he does not. He is good, but just has a slightly overpaid contract that goes way too long).
It has mostly calmed down around Faulk, but some still think he is Norris winner in terms of the value the Leafs would need to give up to get him.

I like that you send Oz too. Zaitzev and Oz are a pair, and are linked. Problem is Oz wont be moving (we promised him, and he only wanted to play in TOR), and so Z wont be either. The real question is if Oz wanted to play in TOR, or with Zaitzev, which might make the above irrelevant.

I actually like it, too. I would want the Canes to include a prospect, maybe Zykov or something. Zaitsev is not far off Pesce, Nylander is worth more than Faulk as UFA-2, and Ozhiganov does have NHL potential, certainly good enough to play on a third pair. Another player coming back would make it more balanced.

No need to add Oz we also can’t really Trade him. He was brought here under the promise of not being traded and canes wouldn’t need him
