Nylander

Created by: Bruins3773
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 12, 2018
Published: Nov. 12, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Well, the Bruins need a forward, and William Nylander is a perfect fit. His style would work well with Krejci and DeBrusk, and the B's have the talent to be able to make a trade for him. Heinen has not been good this year, and the Bruins have tow other players of the exact same style (Donato and Bjork). Backes contract is insane, so 50% is retained, and that still helps the B's. The Bruins defensive depth is really strong, which makes Miller expendable, plus the Leafs want to add a RHD. Senyshyn, a "okay" prospect adds some value, and the pick is enough to sweeten the deal for the Leafs. All around, the Bruins get the scoring that they desperately need, and the Leafs get depth pieces, which they desperately need.

It’s a bad deal for the Leafs and provides them with little they need.

They’d want CMac. That won’t happen. 1st and Carlo would likely get it done. I’d rather look elsewhere.

Donato, Bjork and Heinen all have 3 completely different styles and skills sets.

It would cost more than just Carlo and a first. Plus the Bruins would also want to move Heinen to free up space on the roster for Nylander and so that they can sign him in the offseason

The Leafs get a Top 9 winger in Heinen, who can produce at the NHL level. A strong depth forward in Backes, and Miller is a strong shut down RHD that gives their defense some desperately needed help. Senyshyn and the picks are more to sweeten the deal.

Nylander is not Gretzky. 1st and Carlo is his value. They would sign Nylander immediately not in the offseason. Heinen’s spot is not blocking him. Nylander would slot in at RW2 with Debrusk going back to LW2 and Nordstrom going back to LW4.

The bigger problem is coming up with the cap space to sign Nylander, and coming up with the cap the following year for the UFAs.

I don’t like it in general.

Rather go after Toffoli. Cheaper, better fit.

A 3rd liner, a 3rd pair d man, a washed up slow FW with a bad contract that nobody wants, a disappointing prospect, decent pick.

Would you take that for say Pasta? Nylander is no Pasta but I wouldn’t take that for Bjork.

You are not getting Nylander without CMac or Carlo going the other way. Pass. Other options.

Eh, Toffoli is 26 and wont be here for long with the bruins prospect situation, where as Nylander is younger and is worth sacrificing some young talent for

Bjork is a 3rd liner. Toronto's defense is a dumpster fire, and Kevan Miller could play top pairing their. Bruins are retaining half of Backes' salary. Maybe Senyshyn turns around in Toronto's system

Why would Toronto want to help Boston. They will probably be facing each other in the playoffs in upcoming years

Because, if Toronto can't sign Nylander, they'll want to get something for him, and if Boston has the best offer, I don't see why they wouldn't take it. Also, they have traded with each other before, Phil Kessel for Tyler Seguin.

I know Bjork is a third liner that is my point. If you offers me that pile of roster clutter for Bjork i’d Would be tempted to say no.

Miller will not play 1st pairing anywhere without injuries, Leafs included. Zaitsev and maybe Hainsey would play ahead of him on right side. And they are nothing special.

I think it’s funny that you think a 1st and Carlo is not enough yet you offer less and think it’s good.

In my opinion, I think that these two trades are somewhat equal. Carlo is a good defenseman, and could help the Leafs, but trading him would really hurt the Bruins, as he is a huge part of the future on the right side.

Agree on Carlo. And as I said before B’s are not getting. Nylander without giving up CMac or Carlo. I’d rather pass and get someone else. If we had and NHL ready, RHD ready to step in i’d feel differently. We don’t.

Well Andersson is going to be ready in 1-2 years, so maybe losing Carlo, and then go with 4 LHD since that's a strength and since we have guys that are good on their offside
