Pearson amp Sprong Trade

Created by: jimmmyg
Team: 2018-19 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 14, 2018
Published: Nov. 14, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hagelin is a big loss on the PK even though he has brick hands. Pearson is pretty fast as well and probably can net more goals for the bottom6. Trade is Meh right now, but I definitely think they move on from Sprong since he still is strapped in the RW position with Horny & Kessel. He can thrive on another team for sure, but as long as we have Kessel there really is no point in hoarding him and playing him in a sheltered role. Nylander is a top 10 pick and had a few good seasons in the AHL, but has under performed at the NHL level thus far. Worth a shot!

Just a comment on the Pearson/Hagelin trade. Last night, the Leafs/Kings game in LA. Man, did the Kings old , slow and uninspired. Maybe Hagelin injects a some speed into the lineup. Pearson seemed to a shadow of his aggressive self. As you suggest maybe the change to the Pens will be good for him.

Sometimes I feel like when you see trades between two players in the midst of struggle, it almost always evens out. I'm sure Tanner will score some goals when the Pens need them, but I also think Hagelin did a good job at creating space for Geno and Kessel. He is lightning fast and can pressure defensemen to force a pass/turnover. Hagelin's issue as of the past two seasons (since HBK, really) is that he can't put the puck on net. Makes good passes, speedy PKer, and can even make some big hits. But he has been brutal at putting the puck in the net. He may be on his way to a declining team, but at least he is now living in LA and that can't be too bad!

Yep, I hope Hagelin enjoys the weather in LA (compared to Pittsburg). I've attended games in Pittsburg and like that fact you can park and walk to the arena and get back to your car very conveniently. Now well paid pro athletes can find their niche in any city, but I'm actually quite impressed with the activity and "quaintness" of downtown Pittsburg.
I see you're from Charleston. Is the that Charleston in South Carolina? Another great place to visit.

The result will be the same if you put Nylander on the fourth line with grinders he wont score, same with sprong. You need to surround them with skilled players.

was kinda thinking that when I changed the lines around, but figured the difference between Brassard/Hornqvist wasnt all that different from Sheahan/ZAR. To be honest I was just looking for some players in a similar situation and I have always liked any player named Nylander
