Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Saving cap for next year. We have a ton of players to resign, might as well try to get rid of salary. We are negative in salary in year one but we would have 18 Million to resign players.

Trades
1.
BOS
  1. Boyle, Brian
  2. Johansson, Marcus ($250,000 retained)
NJD
  1. Backes, David ($1,250,000 retained)
  2. Hughes, Cameron
  3. Senyshyn, Zach
  4. 2019 6th round pick (BOS)
  5. 2021 3rd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Honestly, getting rid of Backes is probably the most important step now. Johansson has definitely not been playing well and injured/scrated most of last year. We are paying a decent chunk but I think it is fair enough for this to go through.
2.
DET
  1. Fitzgerald, Ryan
  2. 2020 5th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Add on the depth of the D if we are going to keep getting injured

What’s the incentive for New Jersey to take that? A below average prospect, a bust, a mediocre pick, a bad pick to take a bad contract and they have to give up two productive players and retain? Seriously they are just shooting themselves in the foot. Better hope the Jersey GM is drunk as hell when you offer it. They can get equal or better return without having to take on Backes.

On top of which Backes is not waiving his NMC for New Jersey. He waives to go to a team that has a legit shot at the cup, home to Minny, or back to St Louis. NJ is none of those things.

Really just former-Cap savings. Ambiguous capitalization.
