Let them get a half year in the AHL, if we’re still In The hunt in January then call them up, if not gear up for a Rockford push and sell at the deadline.

The goal isn't to win a Calder Cup, the goal is to see what they have in them at the NHL level to determine whether to re-sign them.

Some guys need time in the AHL, I don’t want to ruin Sikura or Ejdsell by having them playing in the NHL to soon. Besides, each player will be easy to retain and for a low cap hit next off season.

Edjsell and Sikura are 23, they need to show up or stick to a career in the AHL. I'm concerned especially with Sikura as he is lacking strength and at 23 shouldn't be.

You aren’t wrong, personally I want them to earn their spot, or be brought up to fill in for an injury... but with young guys it’s hard to get a good read.

I'd bring up Edjsell cause I'm not sold on him yet. Wouldn't be surprised if we're keeping Sikura in AHL so we can re-sign him for dirt cheap, but I would like to see him get some NHL experience in the second half of the season or if a couple injuries pop up. If this team had a shot at making/competing in the playoffs I think we would have seen him already.
