Id rather keep those players and make a push for the playoffs in 18-19. If COL finishes as the 1st wildcard they could do some damage in the playoffs against the weaker Pacific teams

Without Varlamov I dont think COL makes the postseason. Id be open to resigning him also

Keep Varly, he's part of your route to the playoffs and worth re-signing if the contract price is right. Breaking up a good 1A/B goal tandem is not smart if you're in the play offs hunt. Wilson is playing great this season, and again is worth re-signing if the price is right. He's part of their depth scoring right now, which again will be worth a lot in the play offs.

I agree about Varlamov playing well and I would prefer to keep him but what is the right price? I don't think he will take a discount this summer. He's aging and is historically often injured. If you can take a 1st round pick for him, you have to take it. You already have Grubauer at $ 3,33M and he can do the job. Same thing for Wilson, it's true that he plays well but you have to make room for guys like Greer, Bowers and Kaut eventually.

Varly would have to be 5 or less or bye bye and I agree about the first up to a point, dependent on where in the round. I'd get rid of Andrighetto, Nieto, Bourque and keep Wilson. Bowers is still a question mark on if he's ready, Kaut probably is and Greer may still never be. If you trade the guys you're trading you're on a hiding to nothing in the playoffs. Sometimes the right thing is to risk losing guys for nothing.
