With the cap space, I would rather keep Bozak, Hyman plays right wing, and either bury Bickell or Greening. Please no Percy in the NHL. Chicago might give a 3rd rounder, but certainly not a first.

Thank you. I've posted that so many times on here it sounds like a broken record. I see no reason Chicago gives anything for Cowen especially a 1st. They could have claimed him for nothing and didn't.

Bickell is a pure cap dump and, if you buy him out, Cowen has a 650k cap credit this coming season, meaning CHI clears 4.65 million off their cap for the coming season. That is worth something.

If the Hawks keep Bickell and buy him out. It costs the Hawks 1m next season and the 1m the following.
Cowen is a tax credit of 650k, next season buy a cap hit of 750k the next season. So the Hawks would save 1.9m in cap savings over two years if a Bickell/Cowen trade was made. So the cap savings to the Hawks and the greater salary for Bickel is worth something as Loov suggested. I betcha Bickell would not waive his NTC in order just to be bought out by the Leafs. My opinion he would agree to only if he plays with the Leafs or the Marlies, or if another NHL wants him for full season. He's from the Toronto area and that helps his move to Toronto.
