If there’s anything good to take away from it, it’s that Desjardins seems to have outgrown his “play the vets” mentality he had in Vancouver.

Watched the game the other night against Edmonton. Didn’t make sense that Kovy was on the 4th line and Clifford on the 2nd. I mean I guess you could say it worked as they won but still for a team starved for goals it’s confusing

Both of the Kings' recent wins are false victories because in Desjardins' mind, they validate the theory of get ahead in the third and then go into a defensive shell. The best way to win a game when you lead by one goal late is to SCORE ANOTHER GOAL. You have a better chance of doing that when you don't glue Kovalchuk's glutes to the bench; Blake signed him to provide offense.

You're right on every level. Except Blake as no balls. He hired a head coach because he's a hockey fan and a good friend...(Stevens) Robaitalle will do that if anything.
