Can't get much younger than they already are. Will need some veteran cap hit to keep above the cap floor lol

IMO your return on some of trades favours the wings too heavily.

The return is about right for Nyquist (if he keeps up this pace, which is definitely possible. His shooting percentage should come back to the norm). Probably about on par for Vanek as well. No way Carolina gives up Necas for Howard, probably more like Geekie or Roy, maybe McKeown. Could also see Saarela as a possibility.

Glendening is an interesting case. That's probably what it would take to pry him away from Detroit, and Toronto could use a guy like that to take a late faceoff, kill a 3rd period penalty, etc, but who does Toronto take off the ice for him? Lindholm is having a very similar season at about half the price (Glendening is about 4% better in the faceoff circle, that's the only real advantage). Do you put one of Lindholm/Glendening on the wing, and move out a Ennis or Gauthier? If Toronto thinks they have what it takes to win it all, then I could see that deal go down. The cap is going to put a crimp at the bottom of the lineup for the next few years. And there isn't another Marner or Matthews coming anytime soon.

So a pending mediocre UFA Goalie Jimmy Howard+5th round pick for Martin Necas, And Carolina does this why? If Nyquist keeps up his career year pace. Those picks might be pretty close. Vanek has a full NTC i don't see him waiving for Calgary. Probably pretty close to what Glenny gets.
