Not only but with the way the NHL is going it won't be long before the defensive d man is obsolete. With team defense keeps improving and all player expected to chip in defensively it won't be long before you need 5 skaters in the play score. Every game I watch no matter on the team someone always says you have to have 4 skaters in the rush to score regularly.

Maybe I'm biased in Detroit we have 2 overpaid buffoons on d and when they score its like that was an accident.

You still didn't get the point of our conversation yesterday. Trouba will not be moved mid-season. and will be traded for futures, not with futures.

i mean if this is what you are basing it off of, trouba's highest point total is 33.. skjei's is 39. trouba's a .4 ppg player his career, skjei is a .37 -- not far off at all (and trouba is paid more or will be a lot more come next year)

As for kevin hayes for a first, this is a given. He will probably get even more at the deadline. Look at what the price for players is (especially centers) when it comes to the deadline. Eric staal, Hanzal, etc all went for a LOT more than they should have, so did rick nash, holden, grabner, etc etc.

I mean you can like this trade or not like it, it could be made or not made, i really don't care as i just use this website to pass the time.. but if you are going to base trades off of one specific aspect make it consistent between all players and look at trade history for certain positioned players.

I know but its general knowledge. There are other teams out there who will offer us much more for Trouba. It also doesn't help our impending cap situation too much
