I like Gardiner but not on this team. We already have Butcher, Vatanen, Severson and Smith coming up. The devils real dont need Gardiner. Use that money to upgrade the to six up front.

This may be crazy but what about a vatanen for Nurse trade?
They need a rhd, we need more size and lhd
Nurse is less offense but with Smith and butcher is less of an issue
Nurse is not a liability as a skater
Santini replaces LJ abs we have some grit

Good trades, my only concern is if the Devils don't get near the playoffs this year , or don't get Hughes or a top 3 pick; how will that affect whether or not Hall wants to resign here?

I think asking Hall to wear the "C" & asking him to go recruit guys like Eberle & having management actually signing someone else should keep him here ... I hope
