If you can read, you can see Krug is also in the deal. Oh, you think Gelinas has a big value? ok ....

Gelinas and Krug are interchangeable secondary parts in this trade. The upgrade of Krug over Gelinas doesnt offset the value of Barrie against the 14th overall pick.
But spaz out a little more

Krug and Barrie are a lot closer then you think. Barrie>=Krug, 1st round pick>Gelinas. The way you are matching assets is deviating from the norm.

No argument there at all... I think this would be a fair trade for the Avs. Krug is a great D-man with solid numbers and really comparable to Barrie... oh and we get a 1st round pick? I'd make that deal all day.
