Dubnyk was also entering his prime. This is all moot anyways because I doubt Talbot would want to sign with us to be a back-up again.

Yeah, true. Could just get a guy like Lehner or Varlamov in FA instead.

PDO is about shooting percentage and save percentage against league average. The simple fact is that over large sample sizes teams regress to the average. Teams are therefore unlikely to put PDO well above 100% for a long time. Thinking the Islanders will finish with 7 players above league average and several in the 20%+ range is probably wishful thinking regardless of the system. Every coach wants their players to take the best shots available, even Carolina's.

You are comparing Ovechkin, Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Carlson, Holtby, and Co to the Islanders roster? I think you already submitted a post earlier about not comparing players who are not in the same tier... Besides which the Islanders PDO is driven by some insane shooting percentages from players who aren't supremely talented, the Caps was just marginally inflated across the board, there weren't a ton of career years just a lot of good ones.
