Bo Horvat is going no where. His value is through the roof this year and he is on such a dollar friendly contract. You may however be able to trade for Sutter..

This trade is based on an article I read that VAN would like to enhance their chances in drafting Hughes in order to have the Hughes bros playing together. They also mention that on paper Hughes and Petterson as #1 and #2 at C would be superior to Horvat and Petterson. They said that by trading Horvat they'd supposedly plummet to the basement in the standings.

They can keep Sutter.

Hmm I dont see them doing this. Horvat is a stud and theyre not giving him up to roll the dice on a chance. Especially with a team that currently sits in a playoff spot..

VAN is not in a playoff spot right now. They're not far but they've played a few more games than everyone they're chasing. Anyway, the only thing i want to know is if that package would be something VAN actually considered.

Van would be trading Horvat to Montreal and they are in a playoff spot.. If they make the playoffs those picks mean nothing towards having a chance at Hughes for Vancouver. They would be more likely to trade Horvat at the draft for Hughes if possible as theres a higher likelyhood of getting him that way. To me Horvat is the heart, soul and captain of the Canucks and I really dont think the Canucks will trade him.

No no no. The point of Horvat being traded is for VAN to increase the chances of their own pick to win the lottery. No team out side the playoffs will trade their chance of drafting Hughes. The majority of teams that would trade for Horvat are playoff teams. You shouldn't hope for 2 shots at drafting Hughes.

So to summarize...trade Horvat for a better shot at YOUR OWN pick winning the lottery, and you're also getting a mid-late 2nd 2019 1st rnd pick, 2 2nd rnd picks and a 3rd

The team that wins the 1st OAP wouldn't trade it for Horvat.

Yeah I dont think the Canucks would go for it. Theyre not far off from being a playoff team and losing Horvat sets them way back. New draft lottery is too randomized to tank.

Yeah, so we get an 18% shot max at Hughes. If we don’t get him, we’lll get who, Cozens? What kind of compensation is that? Bo is the central part of our rebuild because of his leadership, versatility, and skill. The value isn’t off, it’s just that Bo is mostly untouchable. He is Vancouver. Look, Hughes is great, and him and Pettersson would be an incredible one two punch, but don’t trade a future 65-70 point center for a 10% higher shot at a better one.

Hes the Canucks future captain, and on a good contract being one of, if not, best player on the team. I Don't see the Canucks doing this.

Look at the bright side. You get to pick twice in the 1st, you've also piled up all those other picks and you're 5.5 mill richer. You can perhaps go after Duchene or Stone, or whoever you want pretty much.

I’d rather Horvat to Duchene. Horvat plays the matchups, and Pettersson plays the offensive role. Duchene wouldn’t be the 1C or offensive 2C, so he wouldn’t produce as much. Now Stone is another beast. But we do have the means to acquire him in the offseason already.
