  6. 2020 3rd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Conditional 1st: If the 2019 1st turn into a lottery pick (top 15), the Bruins have a choice to send 2020 1st instead.

Conditional 3rd: If Saad scores over 55 points in 2020, a 2nd round pick will be sent instead of the 3rd.

I really don't know what Saad's value is or Fortin but just estimating, I guess its around Bjork, Cehlarik, Zboril, a conditional 1st, and a conditional 3rd. I mea Bjork and Zboril could both hit top 6 F and top 4 D, Cehlarik would be a very well built 3/4 liner and Nordstrom would just be for the roaster spot and help the Blackhawks this year, maybe? I don't know about the value but it seems decently even to me, especially as the Blackhawks are kinda the bottom feeder these 2 years and isn't going to benefit with 2 10M contracts, 2 6M contracts, and a 5M contract with lots of vets. I know Saad is still young and he isn't really that overpaid but he is not a Kane or Toews or Keith and is not the player to build your franchise around, and to get one or more of these superstars require high draft picks. I don't know what the Blackhawks plan to do, but it doesn't seem like they are going to splash for the playoffs and wouldn't be in it. All I know is that the Blackhawks are at a low point and that they would want some younger help, such as Bjork, Zboril, a 1st and a 3rd. They have young talent but the team is kinda allover the place for the hawks.I know Fortin is a really good prospect but still, you probably can get better in a 1st round. I know retaining is hard to do, especially for a team with high cap, but the situation being, if they want to start moving out vets, they need to retain. Saad isn't a vet, but he is quite overpaid for what he is doing now, yes he isn't having a super bad season but at the same time, 6M isn't worth what he is doing and I say a change of scenario is probably good for Saad.

Roaster spot, don't want to waste value for nothing when he gets claimed off waivers.

1st and Cehlarik for Saad is plenty. Rest is overpay and no interest in Fortin.

Can’t add his 6m cap hit without dumping Backes. Will make it tough to sign everyone next year.

I don't understand why the Bruins would be interested in both of them. It seems like maybe Saad if he came cheap, but that price is very expensive.

Fortin is a nobody to me, a guy averageing half a point per game in the AHL or 6 points in 24 games in the NHL who's only capable of playing 10 mins and change. That's not a difference maker and he wasn't even drafted.

If Saad was retained that much and the Blackhawks would take Zboril + 1st I'd probably do it. Saad is pretty good and the Bruins already have 6 LHD ahead of Zboril on the depth chart with 2 of them being prospects also. I'd consider Bjork + 1st but probably wouldn't do it because he's one of the few players the Bruins would have for top 9 depth if an injury occurred.

really! Saad's value is that low? About the cap, yeah... very true. Backes need to be dumped someway, somehow. Fortin on stats doesn't seem that bad. He seems to be able to crack the NHL in a year or 2 and I wouldn't mind him. He is 21 and he did quite well in juniors. With the right coaching, I think he can become a solid 3/4th liner.

The only problem with Saad is his caphit, otherwise he has good production. I don't think Bjork is a long term bruin, and won't stay here for long. Fortin doesn't seem that bad and he could become better with the right coaching, I'd say take a chance on him, its like taking a chance on a 7th round pick that could turn into a steal. I don't know tho, and he didn't do that bad in the NHL as it seems. top 9 depth would probably go to Fredric or Smith or even (I hope) Kuhlman who has seem to play really well. I don't understand the situation quite well here so yeah

I was more meaning this season in terms of depth and the only one who's top 9 is Frederic. However he hasn't been posting good numbers in the AHL so I highly doubt he's ready. Smith looks like another 4th liner to me who's < Nordstrom. Kuhlman is a 4th line project like Acciari was. The only actual depth that I think the Bruins have in the top 9 would be Cehlarik if you traded Bjork, but for whatever reason they seem to think he's not ready.

I don't see the Bruins trading 3 "prospects" in a deal like this. Last year they only gave up 1. The mandate was to stop developing the teams players for other teams in the league and to hold onto them and develop them for themselves. The only way they trade a bunch would be if they've already seen enough to know they won't be good which I don't think has happened yet.
