RFAs in light of Nylander Deal

Created by: OldNYIfan
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 4, 2019
Published: Jan. 9, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Pretty tight. Moving anyone except Holl up from the Marlies requires using the IR, unless one of those 333,333's becomes a 000,000. Of course, this pressure is relieved if the cap goes to $83M instead. Or if Nylander is traded for Jaccob Slavin.

In my opinion, Marner will get around $2Mill more per year and I also think Matthews will get McDavid $ or more. I think the other contracts are in the ball park though.

Like the multiples of threes and the sneaky Moore trade. Babs put him on the 2nd pp and I think he likes the kid so I think he wears the white and blue next season. Not to mention that we may need his services because I do not think lindholm will be re signed. Will be tight for sure but if someone like brown is moved we will need Moore so sorry, maybe in 2021....

Not sure if you noticed but they are on 6 year deals. Mathews avv on an 8 year deal buying two extra ufa years would be around 13.3m and marner around 9.9m. Is that what you would expect on an 8 year deal?

I actually didn't notice that, my bad. That being said, i'd be shocked if both aren't signed to 8 year deals (Especially Matthews). I agree with you that Matthews will be around 13 and Marner around 10 though in terms of AAV

Whoa easy I said that would be their aav on an 8yr deal as per this agm.

Still lots of hockey left to play this year and you can’t say for sure what their contracts will look like, even my mind has changed in season. Mathews looked dominant at the beginning of the season but has tapered off a bit and marner has been looking better each game. I would put them in at 11-12m and 9-10m but my opinion could change as the season wears on.

Yeah, I'm slowly resigning (that's "resigning," not "re-signing") myself to seeing him only come playoff season . . .

Yeah, your bad, and I get one star. Weren't the 666,666 and 333,333 (thrice!) a sufficient tip-off?

Yes, I understand. I'm saying that in my opinion Marner will be around 10 and Matthews will be around 13. And of course opinions are subject to change. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I stand by my 1 star. Hey, you are allowed an opinion just like me or anyone else. 6 or 8 year deals, I have a different opinion than you like it or not. Your worth is not defined by how many stars a stranger gives your AGM team on a website, keep that in mind.
