Why trade Simon, he can play up and down the line up. Is cheap for another year. He is needed

Mostly likely on the wing? Probably Pearson.
But even then I think it's an issue. Maybe at the TDL. If Pearson can keep getting a few points and his value normalizes then I would move him. simply as Simon helps penguins so much with cap next year, same as ZAR.

His production with out other people carrying him is awful and his production for being on a top line isn't really that good.
You have read to many articles on him. He's not that good.
Pearson is a better goal scorer. If you had to choose one or the other, you keep Pearson. Who is a player capable of producing on the 3rd line where you need depth scoring.

I agree. Simon is good but I think Pearson has more to offer and Jake is not going anywhere. I don't see Simon playing the 4th line, so moving him out for a solid LW like Ferland can be huge!
