I think it's a tough one. Wood has a no quit motor but is his ceiling higher than bura, Probably not. Bura has those hands that make you think he has more if he puts it together. Hold back the draft pick but roll the dice on bura. What if.....

Tough to figure out Wood, defensively. The Devils use him in the fourth toughest zone starts on the team at evens, but he's 21st on the team in ATOI, and last in PK time. But he scores some goals sometimes and he's signed cheap for a few years. If there's nothing else out there, then for all the cap reasons Smitty just gave, then yeah, I think it's possible the Caps give up a guy with twice as many career points. Wood's put up a career 1.67 points/60, and Burakovsky's got a career average of 2.05, so yeah, you pay more, but you get what you pay for, most of the time. If New Jersey has cap space for more offense, and Washington doesn't... then I think a 3rd is super cheap.

I'd rather see the Caps offer Burakovsky and a 2nd for Blake Coleman, though.
