Nylander's value is too low right now to get anything good back. If he was playing great, and throw in Sandin, and you might have a deal.

Zero cap for schenn after this year plus that package might only get u pietrangelo alone... not gonna get both him and schenn considering the slump Nylander is on.

I respectfully disagree. Sure! Nylander is not playing great right now, but then again neither is St. Louis. So it would be wise to get younger assets via this trade to hit the reset button for next year. And NOT a chance that Sandin should also be included in a deal that already has 4-first round picks (if you include players) going to the Blues.

For sure this is an overpay by the Leafs. No one is going to judge Nylander based on his last 20 games when he's got 2 years of being a great player already and hes still catching up to speed.

All things considered, I think the Blues would have to slightly add to Petro for Nylander but it would depend on which team wants to make the deal more. It seems like the two GMs have already discussed that swap and it didnt make sense at that time...

Pietrangelo is an elite no 1 norris contending d man and Schenn is a great two way centre whose a number one on most teams. I love Sandin and Liljegren but there are no guarantees they are NHL players, let alone good ones. I'll take out a 1st rounder and turn it into a 3rd and that deal would go through.
