You are really missing the point. The level of play in the NHL is so much higher than the level of play in the WHL, that he is not proven.

Why wouldn't you go after someone like Cam Talbot? Colorado is not gonna trade Varlamov because if one of their goalies gets hot again they will be back in the playoff mix. If Hart is going to be the guy at some point next season, trade as few assets as possible to keep the seat warm until he is fully ready.
